Catering for romantics, como cottages are set within the lush surroundings of 100 year old gardens - tall gums, overnighters and families or groups, flowering rhododendrons and lush ferns surround each cottage in their own private sanctuary. Choose from any of our six cottages to stay for a weekend, a night, a week or more! weekend packages available. We supply all your breakfast ingredients for a good old-fashioned hot or cold breakfast as well as twinings teas and plunger coffee. The newly refurbished cameo cinema is close by too our rustic, open fires, coloured glass windows, period furniture, rugs, 'no lace' cottages have polished boards, victorian, gas 'kooka' stoves and wrought iron beds (farmhouse and four poster). Other options include puffing billy (ten minute drive), healsville or the yarra valley wineries (about 30 minute drive) or bush walking through the famous sherbrooke forest. Put your feet up and relax in your cottage or walk to the villages (olinda, sassafras and mt dandenong) for some shopping at the craft shops or a bite to eat at the many and gastronomically varied fantastic restaurants of the area. Watch some tv or grab a video from the local video shop. Soak in a large two-person corner spa with candles and incense burning (provided), while listening to your favourite music. A ROMANTIC 'home away from home' in the scenic village of Olinda, Victoria. Our accommodation cottages,set in the nature laden Olinda village in Dandenong Ranges is a small, family owned and run business for 25 years. Brett beginning came here in 1990 and started 'Como Cottages' with one cottage in 1992. With his skills as a builder from Tasmania, his creativity and a love of art, music, antiques and collectibles, Brett has created a 'village like' atmosphere with the clever 1900's 'shacks' of the property. Arrive and enjoy the gardens, the veggie patch and the chocks (Wisdom Luna) and you will often see Brett pottering around the gardens and doing maintenance. Melinda, his wife, spends maximum of her time just up the road at our day spa Elbe automatic Olinda, where our guests can remain their relaxation and then head back to their cottage for a spa or soak in the bathtub. On your romantic getaway, you will plunge into a large two person corner spa or claw foot, cast iron bathtub, smell the aroma of fresh brewed coffee and good impaired fashioned bacon eggs from the abundant breakfast goodies stocked up in your cottage, mood is set with an open fire and candles incense provided. Each of our accommodation cottages also has an outdoor living space so you can enjoy the outer as much as the cony indoors from your own private deck or balcony.
